About Me
I'm Montserrat Gutiérrez, but most people call me Momo. I'm a photographer from Veracruz, Mexico, now living by the sea in St. Petersburg, Florida. My love for photography started early, inspired by my mom's world in advertising and by an urge I've always had to observe, collect, and keep moments alive. At 16 I completed my first photography diploma, and I haven't stopped since.
Portraits are my safe place. There's something about slowing down with a person, finding the light that suits them, and capturing the gestures they don't even know they make. Over time, that same curiosity led me into commercial and product photography, where I found the beauty of blending a fine-art perspective with a brand's identity to create visuals that are strategic and personal at the same time.
I'm currently co-directing Soley Creatives alongside Haley Springer, a creative agency based in St. Petersburg serving brands across Tampa Bay and beyond. It's where my two worlds meet: the eye of a photographer and the mind of a creative director working together for brands that want to be seen with intention.
My work has been featured in Noise Magazine, recognized by SanDisk Latin America, and shown at the Mirar Distinto Festival and the Bienal de Diseño. I've been named one of the top 20 photographers in my region. But more than any title, what I carry with me are the people and stories I've met along the way.
Beyond the camera, I'm currently pursuing my Bachelor's degree in Art History, and I can't wait to see how that background keeps shaping the way I see and create. I'm also a lover of the ocean, trying out restaurants, exploring nature, and anything that feels ethereal and beautiful.
